About Us
About Our Texas Based Securities Law Firm:
Over the past two decades, our law firm has represented thousands of investors throughout Texas and nationwide in more than a thousand cases against Wall Street and other investment firms. Our team of attorneys, staff and consultants have more that 50 years combined previous working experience at brokerage firms, as registered representatives, vice presidents or compliance officers. Virtually all claims against brokerage firms must be decided in securities arbitration through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Decisions in FINRA arbitration are final, meaning these investors' cases against these firms and/or their representatives are almost never decided in court. All FINRA arbitration claims filed by Texans must be decided in arbitration hearings held in either Houston or Dallas, whichever is closest to the investor's home. Unlike court cases, investors can not be forced to sue in the state chosen by the firm.
Our law firm began in Houston, Texas in 1990, then and expanded during 1990's by representing investors throughout Texas in arbitration hearings held in either Houston or Dallas. Most contact with our clients is through phone or e-mail. Arbitration involves a great deal of work for attorneys but far less effort for clients than court cases. There are no depositions or hearings which clients must attend until the very end of the case. Moreover, over three-fourths of our clients' cases settle just prior to those hearings, meaning these clients' only responsibility is to provide us documents and information and sometimes attend mediation. Mediations are settlement conferences where the client's only role is to listen. On rare situations when arbitration is not mandated, we also represent clients in state or Federal and court.
We have represented investors throughout Texas. Whether you are searching for a securities lawyer or securities attorney in Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, Fort Worth, Corpus Christi, Laredo, Brownsville, Beaumont, Laredo, McAllen, Tyler, Brian-College Station, Galveston, Texarkana or any other city in Texas, to handle claims for losses in stock, preferred stock bonds, mutual funds, annuities, margin accounts or other investments, and whether for negligence, fraud, misrepresentations, or other wrongdoing, call or e-mail our law firm. Act today, because there are limitations to all legal claims.
Since 2000, our firm has also grown nationally and we have since represented investors in a total of 45 other states. Based on information available to us, we represent more investors in claims against securities firms in Texas and are one the top five firms nationwide that represents investors in claims against investment firms. In total, our clients have recovered over $100 million through our assistance in negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation.
We provide free consultations to those contacting us to inquire whether they may have a claim. Prior to filing claims, we carefully screen each investor's situation and are proud that over 90% of those who have engaged our services are successful in recovering all or a portion of their losses. We represent most of our clients on a contingency fee basis, in which our legal services are paid a percentage of their recovery. Usually, we can also delay payment of the case expenses until recovery is received.
Statistics Show Investors Recover More Through Experienced Attorneys.
Each year FINRA publishes reports which demonstrate that investors who do not retain a lawyer to assist them in securities arbitration rarely are successful in recovering any losses. As in any area of the law, investors who engage an attorney and team with a background and experience in investments and handling securities many cases can greatly increase their potential for success.
Our firm's attorneys have each received a law degree from an accredited law school. The founder of our firm founder also earned an advanced law degree (LLM) in Securities Regulations from Georgetown Law School in Washington, D.C. Many of our attorneys and paralegals were previously licensed securities brokers at major brokerage firms, some as vice president and/or in supervision or compliance at those firms. Most of our consultants and staff members also previously worked at brokerage and investment firms and many were also licensed representatives. Collectively, our team members have worked for numerous securities firms, including practically every major brokerage firm on Wall Street.
